RedTrack™ and GreenTrack™ gels are a new and safe generation of nucleic acid gel staining designed to replace the highly toxic ethidium bromide (EtBr) for the visualization of double-stranded DNA, single-stranded DNA, and RNA.

Developed at Biomoles by highly trained scientists, RedTrack™ and GreenTrack™ gels are superior to EtBr and other EtBr alternatives by having a combination of low toxicity, high sensitivity and exceptional stability.

Our dyes are developed to replace toxic Ethidium Bromide (EB, a potent mutagen), commonly used in gel electrophoresis for visualization of nucleic acids in agarose and polyacrylamide gels. EtBr has been the predominant dye used for nucleic acid gel staining for many years due to its low price and adaptability. However, Ethidium Bromide is highly mutagenic. The safety hazard and costs associated with decontamination and waste disposal can ultimately make the dye expensive to use. Learn more
